temperance..jpg

I am choosing temerance because i want to stay fit and a big problem is eating when you are bored. My brother for example has a big problem with that. when ever i sit down to watch a movie or TV. I like to eat a little snack, but eating the whole time is not a good idea. So by using Ben Franklin's virtue of temperance, i should be able to control my hunger, and maybe lose weight.

How will I do it?

I plan on keeping myself busy, I already work out, and i have a job so that eats at my time. I could pick up a hobby but that isn't my thing. so i could keep hanging out with my friends, and try not to lay around and watch movies that much, If I keep busy i know I can put my virtue to good use.

Update #1- 4/21/09-

I have done a pretty good job at controling my appitite and laying around. Saturday I worked out for 3 hours with the football team and I did not eat out of boredom at all during the weekend. I would have to say that I am pleased with my progress.

Update #2- 4/28/09-

I had a little trouble on Saturday eating alot. I had a lot of junk food late at night. but other than that i have been eating well, and working out is a big help. I found that eating small meals 4 or 5 times a day works better than eating 3 big ones.

Update #3- 5/3/09-

I did very well this weekend with temperance. I ate only at meal times and if i ate a little too much i would work out or run. I am deffinately pleases with my progress. I should watch what i eat at work, its tempting to eat everything.

Update #4- 5/6/09-

The past two days have been my best with temperance. I have barely ate anything because i haven't been hungry. I work out very diligently and have been drinking a lot of water. It really cleaned me out. I think this two weeks of temperance has been a success. Also i think i will continue to practice this virtue.
